Wet Sounds Stealth AS-10

Are these worth looking into? I was looking at a Wet Sounds XS12 powered by a Alpine PDX-V9 in just a standered vented box but for about $200 cheaper I can go with the all In one package. Most powered subs I’ve come across seem to underperform.

Some of this is predictable going in or a result of the execution. Small woofers, lack of power, shallow mount woofers in small enclosure and lack excursion, poor placement and tuning.

The AS-10 is a 10" woofer with a 500W amp. Nothing to sneeze at there. Placement and tuning are going to get the most out of it. With that said, a 10" in a sealed enclosure cannot compete with a 12" in a ported enclosure. Proper custom enclosure under the helm radiating directly into the cabin and that extra $200 will be well spent. Also need to keep in mind that that 5 chnl can also drive your in-boats.

I've got exactly that setup (PDX-V9 and XS12) with a pair of 8 inch and a pair of 6.5 inch cabin speakers. Sounds great. Plenty of bass.
