My goals for this year are barefoot back toe hold and two feet fron to back and back to front surface turns. I may get too old before I can get those down.

Well this is going to be my 3rd or 4th year out on a board. I am DETERMINED to land a wake to wake jump! I said that last year but now that I have it down in writing in front of witnesses, it will be done! Thumbup.gif

Once you've gone WTW you'll be surprised at how easy it is and wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

For me it is much scarier now not to clear the wake, not to mention a lot harder on my body. A couple of shots before your runs seems to help with the courage part. Surprised.gif

I want to get over my fear of inverts and board like I used to (I got knocked out and now freeze when I try to throw one).

Also, want to spend more time on the water and relax a little since I have become a major workaholic over the last year.

Sounds like a good excuse to make another visit to Ride the Spot :)

I can't believe that I missed this, sister wakeboarder. Yahoo.gif You'll get it. The biggest thing for me was commitment, not coming off edge as I rode up the wake. Occasionally I remember to stand tall also, & I get some decent pop to go along with it. What are you riding?

She rides an '02 Hyperlite Universal 137 (I think). I've offered to get her a new board, but not even sure what to get... Any recs?

(not got the quote thing figured out yet)

In my best redneck accent - How big a gurl is she?

The board she is on is a great shape. Very forgiving, easy to ride and has the capability, it used to Murray's old board. If anything the 137 might be a little large, which at this point is better than being a little small. You might look into a "girl" specific board like the HL Eden or Devine. The Placebo effect sometimes does wonders.

Ok, for this one... the little reply button with the quote mark on it after a users post works like you remember - it quotes the whole post.

The quote button with the plus, allows you to select a bunch of peoples posts to quote (you toggle it on and off then use the "Add reply" to go through with it.

I THOUGHT it used to be Murray's board... All those Eden's and Devines look like they are from the EXACT same mold...

She does read the forum, you know. ;) So that's not gonna work

I may get the new HL State for her. It seems like a great all around learning board (especially with the toeside/heelside differences)...

Jonathan,

I went from a TFD 137 to an '03 131 Belmont DNA that I found & the difference was amazing. I have so much more confidence on the little board, so much more control. I've also heard good things about the Temet.

The placebo would have the opposite effect on me. I hate girly graphics. Yuk.gif

Thinking of taking up slalom skiing again sure would burn a lot less gas than my Lsv with 1700 lbs of ballast :(

Goals... maybe writing them will help me accomplish em... I guess...

No particular order:

1. Land more inverts... on my feet... and not on my face.

2. Since last summer was my first summer on the course and I ended up 1 off at about 30.. maybe 1 off at about 32....

3. Teach my girlfriend to go wake to wake on the board.

4. Get more of my friends out on the lake.

5. 100 hours.. no less.
