Yes, it can be installed. I’d guess it would cost around 2k.

ive had it on a few boats..... wish I could have on all of them. You don’t get any feedback from the rudder, there is no pull, and you can let go of the wheel any time you want. 

Madman- The steering end of the system is a rotary pump. That is why rudder torque can’t be fed back to the wheel. Pressure would change in the line, from the pressure of the rudder on the hydraulic cylinder at the other end, but it is unable to feed back through the pump into the wheel. Also, hydraulic steering typically has less “lock to lock” rotation compared to a cable system, not more.

Sorry for the delay in response. I’ve been on a 7-day exhausting hunt. I got it because my wife complained about the steering on my ‘15 while surfing. She complained it was always “pulling” while the surf gate was out. She especially hated transfers. I think there is some truth that boat length/size will affect this more or less. @IXFE said that his 25lsv had virtually no pull once surfing...essentially tracking straight once you made the initial correction when gate came out. This was not my experience in my t22. It was an initial correction, followed by a constant pull that you needed to hold against. And this was on either side depending on what gate was out. So...I ordered the hydraulic steering for my ‘18. It effectively eliminates the constant pull while the gate is out. But you still need to make the initial correction. After that, you could let go of the steering wheel and it will track dead straight. The wife loves it! Which means I love it! Happy wife equals happy life. I will say that the steering is now “tighter” all the time. It doesn’t have that loose feel where you can almost feel the rudder in your hands. I wouldn’t say that it’s a downside...more just an adjustment of how it feels in general. Hope this helps.

I have this option my 2022 m240 and IMO it makes a world of difference compared to last Malibu (m235). That didn’t have it.  It’s small cost on the overall price

We ordered it on our 2021 23 MXZ, agree 100%
