Anything wrong with mounting a sub under the drivers helm removable panel? Its a molded plastic piece. And if so, what type of sub. I dont know anything about ported or free air subs. Im thinking wetsounds because thats the brand I already have in the boat. Any ideas which model and amp? Thanks

If I was going to put a woofer in an axis that was currently without, id toss the insert aside. It flexes even with some support added, hard to seal around the joint where it mates to the boat and wont effectively support a heavy woofer or one driven with much wattage. Id build a more robust wood or HDPE facade and cover the entire opening and front-load the woofer. This gives you something substantial to mount an enclosure to, or you can still go infinite-baffle.

Check out the Revo-12FA or Revo-12HP. YOu can get the XS grill that will very closely match your existing in-boat grills. HTX-1 for the Revo-12FA (2 ohm) or the HTX-2 for the Revo-12HP (4 ohm) in a sealed enclosure.
