Malibu surf gate

Because of this goofy better than regular situation,  when I have someone on my boat just starting out learning to surf, I strongly suggest learning goofy.

I actually started regular, but switched to goofy.  Unless someone shows a strong predisposition to regular, we teach everyone to ride goofy as well.  Not sure why (perhaps it's the taller gear ratio and thus, more prop rpm and less prop torque?), but my '18 seems to show less difference between sides than my '14.  So perhaps Malibu is actually doing things to counteract the torque effect, even if not by using the surf gates.  On my buddy's 2011 (his wife surfs regular), we counteracted it by tilting the Nauticurl wake shaper a bit nose-down when placed on the starboard side.  The theory was that with it tilted forward, it would induce a bit of lift on that side of the boat, and counteract the prop torque.  It seemed to work very well.  The only *problem* was that when we did the same thing on the goofy side, it improved that wake as well.  So in the end, we did improve the regular wake, but we also improved the goofy wake, leaving the disparity about the same.  A good *problem* to have, I suppose.

Point taken.  Where do you have the actuator set to the tab?  I had mine all the way up closet to swim deck and it was a steep face but adjusting them with knob was useless.  I moved that pin on the tab and actuator one hole down and now I have a good amount of adjusting.

Mine is all the way down... and was told by GSA not to play with the any of the holes in the tab or adjustments with the 2nd tab, But I might try what you did to see ;)
