Instrument Panel Coming Loose!

Recommended Posts

I have a 96 Sunsetter LX and the Instrument Panel is falling out of the Dashboard! The screws are still in the panel but the collars have come out of the fiberglass. Are there any known repairs? or better yet, a curved Instrument panel that will not put as much stress on the collars if I can glue them back in? At least this will be a good time to replace the clock and add a depth gauge.

I had the same problem on my 96 echelon. i got some of those metal wall anchors

for sheetrock that scrunch up when you tighten up the screws, put them in the holes and and tightened them down without the dashboard on yet. Removed the screws then put the dash back on and screwed it on tight with stainless steel screws.

Thanks! I will give that a try. The lake has gotten down so low, I will start these winter projects sooner than expected. Thanks again!
