Steering wheel adjustment

Recommended Posts

I have a 2000 Sunsetter LXI and I noticed over this past weekend that I have a lot of play in the steering wheel. I hadn't noticed it before but when I pulled my buddy through the ski course it became very apparent Shocking.gif There's quite a bit of play in the wheel before the rudder responds.

Is there an easy adjustment I can do to tighten it up or is my steering cable going bad requiring replacement soon???

Any thoughts?

Sounds like you may need to "load" your rudder a bit to remove the gear lash of the rack & pinion, unless you have something loose in the steering train.
