93 Malibu Echelon with 03 EFI Indmar Engine Fuel Injection Pump Issue

Recommended Posts

I have a 93 Echelon with an 03 Indmar 350 fuel injection engine that has run great since I bought it several years ago.   Tried starting up for this season recently and found the fuel injection pump is not getting any voltage when I try to start it.   If I hook pump up to a 12v source directly it starts right up and runs like a charm.   Any suggestions on where I should start looking to find the issue in the wiring or where the issue likely is would be greatly appreciated.

My '93 was carbureted, not injected, but I believe the injected engines have a "canon" plug (all in one) for the wiring harness. The canon plug is know to have some corrosion or other reasons the pins don't mate well after a number of years. Check for a canon plug (may not exist) to see if simply disconnecting it and reconnecting it takes care of the problem. If that doesn't do it I would check the ground for the pump and then start tracing the power lead to look for a loose connection or a fuse.

mikeo is likely right: fuse.  there are three at the rear of my '04: fuel pump, ign and battery.

Thanks for all the quick responses everyone.  Just like you thought there is a little fuse box beside transmission and one was blown.  Runs great now!
