2016 Response TXi - Monsoon 350

I'm about to pull the trigger on a '16 Response TXi promo boat.  It has the Monsoon 350 engine but I don't know who makes it:  Indmar, PCM, other?

That's correct. It's a PCM or crusader, same parent company. And it's a very nice engine. Still the 5.7 GMblock that Indmar used for years, but I liked the PCM a bit better the few times I winterized one. Easy to do general maintenance on and winterize. Pulls great too!

Pictures of the boat?

LakeOneSkier - looks like you pulled the trigger and own a 2016 Response TXi.  I am close on a 2015 Malibu TXi and had the same question about whether the engine was Indmar as the engine cover has Monsoon 350 on it.  Based on the great info provided on this thread, the 2015s must have had the PCM/ Crusaders as well.  I just read another thread about performance and working with ACME Propellers to re-prop a 2015.  Just wondered if you have any performance or maintenance concerns before I take the plunge.

Interesting as I thought all Malibus were the Ford blocks from Indmar in 2016.  A quick search shows this from crusader.  I am certain someone else will chime in with better info.

My recollection is that the DD's stayed with the pushrods.  The Ford, being an OHC, may have been wider than Malibu wanted (that part is speculation).

Malibu DDs never made the switch to Ford blocks and have been running Crusader engines since '15.  The Monsoon name is Malibu branding and gets attached to all sorts of stuff now... which is confusing, but not as confusing as Malibu's boat naming conventions or lack thereof... :)

EDIT:  Since '15, not since '05
