14 vlx vs 17 A22

Wanted to get the boards opinion about comparing these 2 boats. Similar price , obviously 14 is used but excelelnt condition.  Is the malibu that much better and will it hold its resell value better.  Any other pro-cons , I know they both have surf gate, the VLX has all the fancy touch screens etc.  We are more of rec family looking to do a little a bit of everything and these are the 2 we are most interested in and being new to boating hard to really figure it out.

Between those two I would lean Axis. 5 year warranty on the Axis and 2014 Malibu was pre the new helm, pre- PW2 with lift feature, pre- updated tranny ratios, etc

The Axis won't have a power wedge but just a manual wedge.  That may be the largest functional difference between those 2.  Also, I don't think Axis has horn or lights for surfgate transfers.

I would buy the Axis.  I think the 14 VLX market dropped when the new 15s arrived at dealers.  If it were a screaming deal it would be worth it but if your saying they're equally priced, then the VLX is too high.  When we ordered our 15 A22 the dealer had a leftover 14 VLX that was comparably priced and I know Axis prices have increased in two years.

It definitely has the horn for transfers, just demoed my soon to be new t23 last week. Power wedge 2 is coming 2018 and a new clamping rack option. Not worth the addition cost to myself for either.  Still 5 year warranty which is awesome
