Does anyone have a pic of what I am looking for/located to change my oil on 97 sunsetter with monsoon motor, the tube that some say may be on the boat already?  I want to change my oil, but cant seem to find that tube.

it would be hard to take a picture of.  Reach under your oil pan and you will either find a bolt or a tube held by a bolt.  Unlikely a 97 would have one unless it was swapped in.

You can either use an oil sucker through the dipstick - risky.  Pull the oil drain plug and drain into the bulge and then out the center drain - messy.  Either way, buy a pan drain hose and install it after oil is out.  I installed one on a 04 LXI and after the initial mess it sure is nice.

Just did mine today in my 99 vlx hose was on the port side. Actually I'd say all of the inboards I do which is about 50-60 I think all of the hoses are on the port side. Typically held up near the intake with a little wire hanger

Ok so I found the hose but its not very long, it wont go to back of boat.  I see down in front of engine 2 different parts that may be the drain to under the boat but not sure which one is it.  There is a large black plastic round part that goes into floor and then next to it a taller skinny rod with a black handle on it to turn.  Under boat I see 2 places, one smaller and one larger that correspond to those 2 place in boat floor.  I just dont want to try and open one of those unless I know which one, scares me to have an issue with water coming in the boat for obvious reasons...

I have pics of all of this but cant figure out how to upload them on this post, tried everything, maybe I am not allowed until I post more?

That comes out and is where the hose goes.  Wait until you have the hose thru the hull and over a container before you take the cap off.  Drains faster if engine is warm.

Which one comes out the larger black plastic piece, or the smaller, thin handle?  I tried moving the handle just slightly and it did not seem to move, or maybe has not been turned for years, the larger rough black plastic, maybe the one?

On the filter, it looks like I just turn by hand to remove?

Sorry just reread your post, you are saying its the one with a handle on it, so I must need to put more pressure on it, hope it does not break off!

Black tube could be depth or speedo.  Depth usually on starboard side, speedo on port.

The "T handle" drain plug is often hard to get out especially if it's been in there for a long time.  Get a large pliers and give it an on-axis twist while rocking the shaft back and forth just a bit.  It should come out.  Put some anti seize on it when you put it back in.
