Added ballast to 2009 23 LSV.

I just sold my 2005 23 LSV and purchased an 09 23 LSV. I am curious how you guys are plumbing in additional ballast. On my previous boat I just pulled factory vent hose to fill the extra bag and vented extra bag. Then to drain, I had a pump attached to extra bag to pump it to hard tank eventually pumping out. That system worked pretty well; however on my new boat, I am not sure how to tie a new pump into the computer system. I could use same method as previous boat and just add a toggle switch to it extra drain pump. I am just curious what you guys are doing. Thanks.

There are several threads on installing additional ballast pumps, and ways of doing it (Wakemakers piggy back kits, reversibles, aerators, etc).

Here is my thread where I added 3 reversibles:

ALL independent reversible (Johnson) pumps and bags here as well. Probably the best upgrade I have done because my crew is surf centric. I don't know of anyone who has attempted to integrate into the OEM ballast system. It has been talked about, but never done as far as I have read on here. It would of definitely been nice not to have to add extra switches, but not worth the aggravation and time lost trying to figure out the install and deal with the potential Malivue gremlins later. jm2c
