Hey folks,

Im looking at buying a new surf board for the season. I've found an article that tells a little about a few boards. Wondering if anyone has any opinions on these boards(or others)? My brothers and I are intermediate riders looking to excel this summer into more experienced tricks(spins and airs). Crew is all around 6ft, 180-200lbs, also have a couple girls that are getting a lot better and will probably try out the new board and they are about 5'5" 100lbs. We already have a Hyperlite Broadcast and everyone loves it and it is perfect for beginners. Looking for something to progress on.

I'm no expert, but the Phase 5 Hammerhead gets mentioned on this site a lot.   For the ladies, we have several in our crew that ride the Victoria Project V and they love it.  FWIW, the best riders I personally know ride the Hammerhead and the Project V.    But, I know there are many factors in boards - surf or skim style, price range, etc.  Good luck!

Last summer I was pushing 200# and rode a 53" P5 HH with no issues.  I would consider myself an advanced beginner and I love the HH.  It's by far the favorite board I have ever been on.  I have a P5 diamond on order as well.  I also dropped 35 lbs over the off season so I am pretty excited to see how that changes things.
