Port ballast project

'04 Vlx. Got 2500#plumbed in already. Looking to add some under the port bench/storage.  Measured 60"L x 18"W x 9"T. Will fit 350#

How would you go about doing this? I will probably oversize the bag, tie into the existing port/aft somehow, and maybe make some hose extensions in case I want to use it out on the floor.

Gonna get to building this in the next few weeks. Haven't seen this one done on here so I will try to be informative.

Made a rough cart on wakemakers. Looks like a $300 project

This is for surfing, do you have a surf device on the boat? If not, I would probably suggest putting the money towards that first.

A 60x18x9 custom bag from us would be 360lbs and cost $383.36. You can look at off-the-shelf bags. How is your current ballast integrated (factory pumps, or...)? Depending on the answer to this question your options for integrating into your existing port rear location or moving the bag out on the floor are either relatively easy, or non-existant.

!st yep, got a surf device.

second, I am gonna delete this thread here soon. Decided not to do it. Mainly because I have aerator pumps and that doesnt help me out here. The bag would be stuck in the locker and thats not what I want. Replacing pumps isnt in the list of things im gonna do to this boat. Doesnt need it. I just love taking on projects, but this is one that just isnt going to be.
