Bluetooth option RFX3000

Recommended Posts

I have a 2012 247 LSV and was wanting to get it working with Bluetooth. I searched options and thought i had the 5000 and went online ordered a bluetooth dongle. Then I took the amp board off and realized there was no spot to hook it up. Then I researched it more and come to find out I have the rfx3000. Any suggestions on the best way to get Bluetooth to work. I had one of those plug you put in Aux cord and plug it in cigarette plug but that didn't sound really that great. I have a spot to plug in a Sirius connection and a CD changer. Can i make any of those work with something that streams Bluetooth?

If you are willing to give up that AUX input for BT, and you don't require BT data to be displayed on the RFX screen/remote, then I'd definitely highly recommend the Exile BT receiver.  https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Marine-Bluetooth-Music-Receiver/dp/B00X1V4FYW

I've also tried the wetsounds BT unit (twice) and both were noisy.  I know others are happy with them though, so it could've been my install.

It sounds great and has pretty good range.  Range is going to be dependent on location, and the fewer hard walls between your mounting spot and the phone in question, the better.  Mounted semi-out-of-sight under the dash, it should provide good BT coverage in the cabin (assuming boat is running and the boat is full of people).  Testing in front of your house you'll probably get 40' of range from it.

I agree with shawndoggy, with my '12 23 LSV, I use a bluetooth receiver in the AUX input. I'm using the MPOW Streambot. It worked fine for me all last summer. It is battery powered, but basically lasts all day on a charge. The sound is fine, nothing great. Nice and cheap at $15 from Amazon. I don't really miss seeing what playing. I have a huge 'boat' playlist, that I just run on shuffle all day.

I was given an old iPhone 4 from a co-worker, which I will give a shot this summer, with the odd old iphone connector cable.

I second @shawndoggy . The exile Bluetooth module is awesome. Easy to install and great sound. Quick and repeatable connects too.

Just installed today! Works great! Exactly what I needed.
