RAD disk

It is definitely possible to lean back and get it to plane that what I do with my toddler.  U just have to hold the rope or set the handle on the rad handle hook and position body way back.   I have to ride with my toddler.   He tubes on his own.   I'd still get one but toddler friendly towing it is not.

Thanks.

We always get the adult to lean back on the tube so we can get in on plane, but then we keep it as low and slow as we can. The RAD looks like it'd be fun at 20, but I am guessing a slow crawl isn't manageable.

Slow crawl is manageable but the adult needs to lean back during start to keep it from nose diving.  We ride ours at 12 mph.  We have had it up to 18 before with just adults but that seemed really fast to me.  You can get the thing on plane under 10mph.

I just wish we would have known about the nose dive on start as our first trip out last year, had the wife jump on it with our 3 year old.  It was early April and water was cold.  I told them they wouldn't get wet.  Took off slow, it went nose down and they were both in the chilly water.  Momma was MAD!!

We built Ply wood versions years ago.  We call them Lilly pads, they are a blast and cheap, especially with two of them! only bummer is they are a pain to transport.

Pics??

We built those back in the day too. I've seen those things dive when you fall off of them and launch themselves way out of the water when they came back up. You don't want to be in it's launch path when they come up. Lots of fun though. Try it with a lawn chair. Fold it up and hang on to it until you get stable, unfold and sit down.

On our ski team "Crazy Carl" (like 70 years old) skis on one....on a chair....holding the handle with his teeth.

How well do they float?

Routered and sanded edges I'm guessing

Our reservoir has a tube ban and I'm sure this would be considered a tube to Ranger Danger.

That is the best thing I have heard all day

That's literally exactly what happened to me, wife and 3 year in cold a** water and of course I was way up the river mouth where it's extra cold.

I used my neighbors 3' quite a bit last year. His got a RAD and a FAD for free when he bought his MC at last year's boat show. I liked it so much I bought one for us a few days ago. I find that the 3' is fine for just about anyone even me at 170lbs and it doesn't take up much space on the boat when inflated.

An HO rep explained to me that the manufacturing process is somewhat complicated and time consuming which is why they are somewhat expensive.  It is still a lot cheaper than a decent ski though.

We got the slingshot version. Good grief.....when it dips just a little your done. I tried first and wire was making fun of me for getting dumped. Then she tried and kept doing the same. The water was 67-68 so we were trying extra hard not to go off of it but we did anyways. Super fun. Our 3 and 5 year old kiddos will love it. Our 3 year old little girl floated on it Sunday. She was 2 last year when she stood up on the surf board by herself. We had the lsv at 8.6-9.0 and she did amazing for being 2 years old at the time.
