MC XT21 vs VLX 22 vs GS22

I have a buddy that is looking to get a new boat.  They're coming from a 2006 X15 and are life-long MC fans.  That said, what they're looking for is the best crossover boat out there in a 21' or longer size (as such, the vtx and gs20 are out).  Just wondering what peoples' experiences are with the xt21, vlx22 (I know, I know, it's awesome - best thing since sliced bread) and the gs22.  How do they compare along all three disciplines (slalom, surf and wakeboard)?

How much do they ski? And at what level? The VLX is probably at the bottom of the list for skiing. But with perform very good everywhere else.

they're not going through the course - they appreciate that at 21' and longer and with it being able to surf and board well also, they're making a significant sacrifice in skiability.  but they do want to be able to free ski it.  my guess is it only gets skied 5% of the time.

Went to the boat show yesterday.  The Nautique guys insist their GS22 skis as well as anything.  It weighs 4750 pounds, which is almost 500 pounds more than the VLX.  Given how much better my 3500# A22 skied than my VLX, I am skeptical.  But they insist it is so.  THat said.......they are proud of the thing.  $146K MSRP.
