2016 vtx prop

Hi,

I have read all the posts in regards to the potential change in prop wash behind these boats to get a softer wake.  Has anyone actually changed there prop from the standard to see what happens?

We open water ski at 33mph and find the wash/wake still too solid.

I'm about buy a spare prop for the boat so would be keen to get something that will decrease this, even if it means we have to surf with less ballast.

I live in New Zealand so demoing props is a not so easy given the size of the market.

in 2016 they used a 1.76:1 drive ratio.  2017 went to a 1.5:1.  what that means is that you have plenty of "room" to get really steep.  The steeper the prop, the less disturbed water, the less disturbed water, the softer the wash.  I never got o run my experiment but I would not have shyed away from a 14x20

Kinloc, have you spoken to the boys at Regal marine in Vic Aus. Trent may be able to help.

How would the 14x20 affect the ability to load up the boat for wakesurfing?  The guys at wakemakers have suggested a acme 1947 which is 14x15.5.
