To me floating is much better than a replacement pair - if you lose your glasses early, then you have to go the rest of the day without them.  Replacement leaves you waiting...

For the boat, definitely bombers.  I even surf in mine.  I finally couldn't locate a pair after a wipeout last year but usually they float up and I spot them quickly.  Pretty sure you can just see the

I was referring to the foam pads near the temples.  Here is the best pic I could find online to show.

I have bought several pairs from Knockaround.com.  They have a good selection of styles (and polarized) that average around $30.  Great quality for the price.
