February, 65 degrees, and sunny in Michigan means....

Took my daughter skiing yesterday for her first time ever...

But only because she just can't get comfortable on her snowboard. There is a 4-run rope-tow hill 35 minutes away that I never knew was there. Her school took a trip there on Friday that she missed so I took her myself and we ended up being the only two people riding the entire section of hill, had one whole run and rope-tow to ourselves. A family with four little girls was on another section and that was it in the entire place. 65*, epic sunny t-shirt weather and we rode for two hours all by ourselves. Then I dropped her off at home and went and rode the 'big' hill with her older brother for another couple of hours after dark.

Good for you @ahopkinsTXi! Not for me anymore (did it once my senior year of HS and the boat idled slowly back to me...almost didn't make it out of the water), but I'll drive anytime.

AhopkinsTXi, you sir are a passionate man! I figured I'd see you on our lake in a few more days when it opens up, but had no idea you'd go to the big lake! That is obsessively thinking outside the box. Looks like it was worth it!

As soon as the ice melts, we will be out on our lake :)

Looks a lot like our little ski slopes in Ohio.

This one is little, but turned out to be a cool little place for her to learn. Had a place just like it in town but it has been converted to tubing so I'm glad we heard about this one. We normally go to Rib Mountain/Granite Peak, which is in town. It's a lot bigger and busier, and much more expensive so this is worth the drive.

That is completely awesome!!!

ice just went off my lake yesterday but lots of big chunks still floating. Today some has re-iced.

No drysuit here so we will have to wait till march-April before we are close enough to take some runs.

super jealous!!
