What amp for 4 WS 8s?

Going to be ordering 4 WS 8s for my tower, originally settled on icons, but now thinking may get revs.

Can I run the factory RF 500/2 amp with them?

Found a really good deal on a brand new WS syn4, would that work better?

Sorry for the noob questions, stereo stuff is like Latin to me, and I can't get the direct answers I need out of my only local audio shop. It's always a "yea, that'll probably work..." Etc, etc.

If neither of those are a good option, what's would work best w/o breaking the bank?

Thanks!

Ill answer the question first. Yes, you could run either of those setups on the OEM 500.2.

For 4 icon-8, I like the Syn-DX-2. For 4 Rev-8, the Syn-DX-2 is also good amp. If you wanted to drive the 4 Rev-8 to their potential, Id look into the new Syn-DX2.3HP. More than enough wattage there.

Now, before I spent money on 2 pair of Rev-8, you have to consider a single pair of the larger Rev-10. This setup will be the best near field and best wake range setup, at a lesser investment then 2 pair of 8" HLCD.

Based on past info posted by you, you want an 8" coaxial over an 8" HLCD. Doesnt get any more direct then that.

Cool, thanks @MLA

Everyone just has me second guessing the icons from posting on here, and a few shops I've spoken to. Being that I can't demo any of them, I'm completely shooting in the dark.

As for the rev10s, I hate the look of only two speakers on the tower, just a personal thing. Agee with you tho, if not for "vanity", that would obviously be the best option.
