There's nothing wrong with a change of the entire port position (perhaps terminating low and to the outside versus high and to the inside, etc.), but just to be clear, my comment was not suggesting a relocation of the entire port, but just a rotation of the mouth of the port, exiting to the side versus exiting upward. It's an uncomplicated mod where you are not altering the port length. Carry on.

Ah okay I am following now. So just move the mouth of the port 90 degrees counter clock wise but leave the inner wall location of the port where it is. Just cap off the top and put the opening on the side
