Switching to LT Tires

I am going to switch to LT/minivan tires for my trailer.  My question is will load rating 97 be sufficient?  Being that, that rating is rated of 1609 a tire I am thinking that should be plenty. I have a 2001 Wakesetter LSV.  If I remember right the dry weight is 3600 lbs. What tires have you all gone with when switching to LT?

But you are in DB...why do you need to trailer?

Because we live on the golf course and the boat is at the marina.  I would like to get it to indoor storage somewhere.  I would also like to not be locked to the delta next summer as well.

I'm a fan of Toyo tires like the Proxes ST 2, but you will need to move to a wider and taller rim. You can run any car rim on the trailer as long as the backspacing is 0 offset. This is to prevent overloading and stress on the outboard axle bearings. Lots of members on here are in the 17 to 18 inch rims range.

Figure your towing weight for that boat, geared up, will likely be 6000lbs or just shy of it.

The tires on my trailer are rated @ 1939lbs / each.  Even at a 9% reduction, that's still 7000lbs (and remember, 100% of the load is not on the tires - though I wouldn't consider that in my calculations).  I would make sure you have something rated @ 1500lbs/tire and should be good to go.
