How to tie in illumination (dimming) wire on head-unit?

Recently replaced my head-unit with a new head unit w/ Bluetooth.    The old head unit didn't have an illumination (dimming) wire, but the new head unit does.   From everything I've read, it sounds like it makes most sense to wire it to the nav lights.   Also from what I've read, the illumination (dimming) works by detecting 12v when the nav lights have been turned on and the head unit then dims the head unit face and its wired remotes.   My question is where to do that at with a 2010 23LSV?   With the mux switches I'm just not real sure...?   Do I just tap into the + wire going to the anchor light as it will always be on when dark no matter if underway or anchored.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks, Roger
