Borrow prop puller in the 916 Folsom area

Recommended Posts

We were enjoying a nice weekend on Lake Oroville when I propped big rock.

2 questions: can this amount of damage be fixed and if so, can I please borrow a prop puller to send it out for repair?

Thanks in advance.

Obie

To my untrained eye...you are missing a whole lot of material there.  Can it be fixed?...I suppose a good prop shop can fix about anything.  Should you fix it?...I'd get a firm estimate from any prop shop who offered to fix it and compare that price to a new prop.  I doubt the two prices would be that different.

high quality work and quick turnaround; from what I can tell, as long as they can read the numbers and know what to build then they can rebuild your prop as good as new.

I took a prop to Thomas last year. Happy with the job they did. I believe their minimum is around $200. That one looks to be missing material. I would email them some pictures to get an idea of costs. You could probably find a used prop for around $400.

I also used Thomas to repair a prop from prior season, they charged me $225.   They do good work but make sure they give you an exact quote, when I dropped it off he told me it would be $200 when I picked it up the invoice was for $275.  He had no explanation of why it was more, and I negotiated with him down to $225.  I thought it was bad business practice.  Just a guess but I would bet that prop is going to run you $275-$300 for them to repair it.  You can borrow my prop puller if you want but I would just recommend buying one, it wont be the last time you ever need it.

This is a great kit to have:

if they are charging that much for repair locally then consider propmd.com. They are my local shop and charged $145 to repair a prop I mangled way more than that two years ago

Edit, looks like $185 now.
