Australia oil filter for Monsoon 340

Looking to have a mechanic mate service my 2005 Malibu Wakesetter with Monsoon 340hp motor. The Indmar manual refers to an oil filter that isn't available down under. Looking at the one installed it shows it's a "Sierra Marine Oil Filter, 18-7824-1, Short GM Canister"

I can find those on eBay but just wondering what the alternatives are for my local car dealership to order in or to pick up at SCA?

Well, only you know what is available to you. Figured that one of the 40 or so on that list would work. What brands can you get in your area. It's just a Chevy 350 oil filter, nothing special about it.

fwiw if I google Australian oil filter I get ryco. Then cross ref ph30 (fram) on their site I get this.

Not only I know - there's plenty of other aussies on this forum who would have relevant knowledge.

I saw that Ryco filter in my search but it's much longer than the one in my boat.

@ToeCutter:  To what @oldjeep said, you can also simply go to an auto parts store and choose one of several options for a Chevrolet Silverado / Suburban or vehicle that has a standard GM350 engine.  As noted, and if you have the room, I would go with the long filter rather than the short one.  I use a Wix 51061 which is a long version.

From a fellow from down under.

no problems tracking down the WIX filters long or short.

Depending on what part of AU you are located. I recall an on line supplier around Albury ish way who ship around the country & were reasonably priced.

I believe the wix # is 51061 for the taller filter. Otherwise you can try a mercruiser 866340Q03 if you want a "marine" filter. with Mercury being such a big company I'd guess there parts are easier to find
