Removing motor from XTI

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking he is asking how to remove the xti dog house. Any way you can feel up under the floor to find lag bolts into the engine box walls?

also, we are going to need to hear the whole story and see some pictures.

Yeah that's what I meant. I had to do it with my last boat to replace the carpet. Hopefully he has small hands. The holes are about 4 inches in diameter.

Try putting a flat screwdriver under the head and washer and prying up as you turn the bolt out.  Sometimes enough resistance on the backside will hold the nut from spinning.  If you can at least get them out then you can find out how it goes back in without the engine in the way.

And then he'll be listening to the nuts bouncing around in the stringers for the rest of his life ;)

Nah, he'll see how to get them after he gets the engine out.
