prop puller does not fit

Recommended Posts

The standard prop puller doesn't fit my drive shaft area to pull the prop.  Does anyone else have this issue?  They told me the drive shaft is shorter than normal.  Will this effect performance? Is this

standard for a 2013 Malibu 22 MXZ?  We finally got it off with a torch and 2x4.

Also, I found this tube in my glove box when I bought the boat.... what is it? Thanks

Thanks. Yeah I was gonna get a harmonic puller but the guy that helped me said it didn't really work well and wasn't worth the money.

My father in law has one that he uses on his response.  As much as I hate hammering on a prop shaft it works very well. (I'll stick with the c style puller)

Maybe the guy who helped you is a puss when it comes to hitting it ;)

The brass things look like they were part of a ballast system.  I like Oldjeep's thought of check valves

Brass things might be check valves, for some sort of ballast.

I loaned my C style prop puller to a buddy a few weeks ago and it didn't fit his boat either. I was wondering why as well.

Those are check valves. I removed the same ones from my Axis system. They are too difficult to get into the "open" position, and I felt they were killing water flow.
