99 RLX Water Pump Replacement

Recommended Posts

Wondering if someone could give me a basic rundown on steps to replacing the water pump (circulation) on my 99 Monsoon 5.7. Just wanting to know if any additional parts are needed beside the pump and gaskets and if other parts need to be removed in the process. Thanks!

Nothing to it. Took less than an hour for me to remove and install on my 99 direct drive. Remove belt, remove hoses, unbolt pump. Use new gasket or sealant and re-assemble. Unbolt the pulley from the pump and put it on the new pump.

I had previously replaced all my water hoses so my water hoses were in good shape, if yours are original they may be difficult to remove and you might save time by replacing them.

Thanks @Bozboat. I was hoping it would be that straight forward. My hoses all seem to be in good shape and have been removed without issue. I'm thinking I'll replace the belt even though it looks fine. Hard to believe I've had this boat for seventeen year now!

Definitely replace the belt its cheap and you already have it off. Get 2 at the parts store and keep one as a spare while you are at it.
