Clicking noise when starting 2005 Monsoon

Recommended Posts

Just noticed a new clicking noise when starting my 2005 V-Ride.  Also, a couple of recent start attempts have resulted in a "free wheeling" starter noise without actually turning the engine over.  When this has happened, I've turned the key off then back to the on position and allowed a few seconds to let the system reset and then it has started right up.  I think the starter is failing or perhaps the solenoid.  Once started, everything runs fine.

I see that a new starter is ~$200 on Bakes online.  Just thought I would check with the Malibu Crew before I start throwing parts at it.
