Swapping factory driver's seat heater vent with a tube

Has anyone swapped out the factory "fixed" vent at the driver's feet to a hot tube?    Is it as simple as buying a hot tube and bolting it in place?    I don't know why they wouldn't make at least one of the two vents under there a pull out tube from the factory.

My 05 has a tube and a vent for the driver and a tube for the passenger. If there is room behind the footrest that heater love you seek is only a zip tie away...

to be honest I would prefer three tubes. I'm always warm behind the windshield. Usually the spotters share a blanket and a heater tube and then whoever is sitting behind the drivers seat gets the second tube.

I swapped my two fixed vents under the helm this spring. I didn't have enough space to mount the hot tube up and down on the supplied bracket for the fixed vents, the hot tube is also too big for the bracket. So I drilled a new hole in the kick plate. Works awesome now. Both passengers can have a hot tube in the observer seat now.

This is the only one I have. I did it during the same time I moved my sub from the observers compartment to behind the kick plate as well. I have since rotated the fixed vent bracket 180 degrees to get it a little higher and out of view.
