Swapping factory driver's seat heater vent with a tube

Recommended Posts

Has anyone swapped out the factory "fixed" vent at the driver's feet to a hot tube?    Is it as simple as buying a hot tube and bolting it in place?    I don't know why they wouldn't make at least one of the two vents under there a pull out tube from the factory.

I hope it's that easy, that is what mine looks like I should be able to do, and it's on my winter project list

My 05 has a tube and a vent for the driver and a tube for the passenger. If there is room behind the footrest that heater love you seek is only a zip tie away...

to be honest I would prefer three tubes. I'm always warm behind the windshield. Usually the spotters share a blanket and a heater tube and then whoever is sitting behind the drivers seat gets the second tube.

Curious to see how this works out for you. Why in the heck they didnt come with hot tubes from the factory is beyond me...

If you go 3 vent you get one hot tube and two fixed.  Yes, it is a simple and easy conversion to hot tubes, I use a piece of 3" pvc to join the flexible tube together with a couple zip ties.

I swapped my two fixed vents under the helm this spring. I didn't have enough space to mount the hot tube up and down on the supplied bracket for the fixed vents, the hot tube is also too big for the bracket. So I drilled a new hole in the kick plate. Works awesome now. Both passengers can have a hot tube in the observer seat now.

This is the only one I have. I did it during the same time I moved my sub from the observers compartment to behind the kick plate as well. I have since rotated the fixed vent bracket 180 degrees to get it a little higher and out of view.

I put one in my new kick plate I made when I did my sub.  Super easy.  Cut the hole, run 3 screws in.

I had to rebuild my sub box last winter and moved the heater tube from the walkway to the bottom of the sub box. There is plenty of room to do 2 tubes in there.
