Wakeboard / Wakesurf Board

Recommended Posts

I am finally getting back into boating and picked up a new Malibu.

Can you guys please help recommend a new beginner/intermediate wakeboard as well as an all around wakesurf board (Hyperlite, Ronix, Liquid..)?  I am 5'10 and 190 lbs.

Also, if anyone has any ropes they love (wake and/or surf), please let me know.

Thank you

live been using the same board and rope for 7yrs so I'm not up on what's new and great in the wake side of things

If you are looking for lines I strongly recommend the hyperlite mainline A-line for your wakeboard line.  You can get it with the handle combo or get a separate handle to fit your preferences, but the mainline is the best IMO.  I've gone through multiple coated and uncoated lines and the A-line has the softest and least tacky coating.  This allows the line to pull though where other lines end up bunching up.  We have the regular round version and the flatline version on the boat.  Love them both.

I have a Trip, nice board, light, and tracks really well. I have noticed boards that have the center fin track really well. I removed my center for s***s and giggles and it got real loose and slippery. You can pressure 180 really easy. Needless to say I put back the fin back in, but like the option that it is removable.

How is the Hyperlite State for a beginner board?  Would I be better off with a Liquid Force Trip, Hyperlite Franchise, Ronix District or Ronix Vault?

Just ordered the Ronix District with District bindings for $415 from http://www.evo.com/mashups/ronix-district-wakeboard-bindings-2016.aspx  Supposed to be a great all around board with a 3-stage hybrid rocker which gives you the best of both worlds.  Great beginner/intermediate board and better than the Hyperlite State setup.

Everybody has an Opinion... one of my riders likes the district.. I bought it for me and hated it and use it as a loaner board on boat..... but that is just my 2 cents that means nothing :P

What did you not like about it and what are you riding now?

I probably could have fixed part of the problem with smaller fins. I like loose boards ;) ... However, I would catch front and rear edges with this board all the time and the landings were not that soft.

I currently ride a Liquid Force BOB and love it...  but others in my crew don't lol...
