Ballast for surf wake question...

Recommended Posts

Quick question, I have surf gate, do I need more ballast on the side I surf, or more on the opposite side?

even, however, I place all movable ballast (people) on surfside... I also know of people that put a ballast bag in the center of the floor and "kick" it to the surfside (lean it towards the surfside, and then if transfer to the other side is made, lean it towards the new surfside).

Ok, that's the way I have and was overthinking it I guess. I have 750s in the rear, 350 in the coffin on the reg side, and depending on people, and 1k bow sac. I move most people to reg side when we surf, so it's quite a bit heavier than goofy side.

However, and I know it has some to do with prop rotation, goofy side wave is sick with less weight. Much better than reg side it seems. Unfortunately, all of us suck riding goofy!!
