First time we took the dog out on it so we figured it was the easiest.  I pulled it in and pushed it out before starting.. Probably wouldnt do it again with the current and the big waves.

How did the dog go in the boat? Ie claws on the 2016 upholstery? Any dramas? we are a bit sceptical about our dog in our new one.

Dog did really well. We did put towels down.. Where she would climb in.  Pulled up to dock. She jumped on the seats above motor and then jumped to the carpet.  She is a 85lb lab.  Trained her not to go past the windshield.  Then when we got to place to swim we put towels over the seats and had her climb to the swim platform and jump off.  She did move a towel and stood on the seat and it didnt do anything.  Think next time we are going to take towel like material blankets we have so you dont have to line up a bunch of towels.  When we were done at beach i turned boat around and lifted her up on the swim platform and she jumped back to carpet.  Seats are way better than the 2008 1800mx we had.  Way more durable.

FYI, 3 years and about 425 hours on our 13 TXi with zero issues from our dog. 125lb mastiff black lab mix. Now, now all hours are with the dog in the boy but he spends a lot of time in the bot and we don't really restrict him from the seats because there would be little to no room for him if we did.

just one more question, do you cut their claws or just let them go?

Curious why you chose a VTX over the 22VLX or the new 21VLX?  Nice looking boat.

Wife wouldn't drive anything bigger than the 20ft.
