Water in blower duct after surfing.

I general slow down to idle and stop, as waves pass I  turn back for surfer.  And I'm sure as I'm surfing my friends are doing same.   But sometimes I still get some waves hitting the transom and it swamps my blower hose.   I was considering building a snorkel or finding some sort of damper.  Anyone have any suggestions of materials or damper for the blower grate? Thanks for any ideas!

What I did was put two or three small holes(screw driver sized) into the lowest portion of my blower hose so it drains when water does get in. If you find a good looking alternative I will prob do the same.

I don't surf, but I've done the same.

Pin holes in bottom of blower hose for mine too. Too bad it sits on top of the gas tank. I added extra sealant around the tank fittings.

I worry when I listen to the blower hose exit and it's gurgling. My transom is sloped into the boat like a ramp for the stern wave. It's horrible.
