Exhaust manifold hole

Recommended Posts

So today I was out on the water and I noticed that my bilge pump was running on and off during driving.   So I stopped to see if there was water in the bottom of the boat and when I opened my motor box I had water all over the motor.  So I was looking around I could hear water running in and I located it on the back side of exhaust in a spot where it lookes as if has test looking welds in it.   The hole is about 1/4 inch directly in the middle of that spot.   I was wondering if anyone has ever had anything like that happen or what the spots are for on the manifold .  Each side has about 4 of these spots.  Also anybody have a fix for me with out buying new.

Same thing happened. We patched with some jb weld and aluminum flashing but bought a replacement manifold. I'll post some pics of the fix. It's held for about 20 hours so far (my dad is waiting until the off season to take off the old manifold).
