Fuel Capacity?

Recommended Posts

gbw26

I bought a '99 Sunsetter VLX last fall, I've not been able to find how much fuel the tank holds from any of the literature or internet searches on my 99 Sunsetter VLX.  Does anyone know the fuel capacity?  The fuel gauge doesn't seem to accurately read what is left in the tank.

It should be molded into the top of the tank near the filler hole if you can see it.

Either it has worn off or was not there, I've done a thorough inspection of it and cannot see anything that identifies the volume.

If you can get the dimensions of the tank there are programs that will tell you the capacity of the tank. 47.00L x 18.03W x 7.50H will get you 25 gallons according to Moeller. Or go to the company website Moeller and you should be able to cross reference their dimensions with a capacity. They are the main company that provides the plastic fuel tanks for almost every manufacturer.

36.50"L x 16.00"W x 11.75"H will get you 27 gallons. I am not seeing a 35 gallon from them.
