Sportster Fuel Filter and Fuel separator and 91 octane

Hey

I have a 2000 sportster LX. Can anyone tell me how to get to my fuel filter to change it out? Also if I can get a part number that would be fantastic, I also need a part number for the fuel separator. Also is there anything else I need to change or add to keep the fuel system happy.I recently had stalling issues, the last time out, I was at 2300 rpm and it dropped to zero like three times in a row before I just slowly drove the boat back to shore. I had a friend suggest using 91 octane fuel instead of the regular fuel, is this recommended? Ive been using more since I have learned to wakesurf behind it.
