Wetsounds SD6 issue?

I've got my 4 cabin speakers each wired direct to channels 1-4 and then each pair of bow speakers to channels 5 and 6, wired in parallel. Amp has a single RCA to channels 1/2 from a WS420. The SD6 will only play all 4 cabin speakers in mono...when I switch to stereo, 2 shut down. Any ideas?

I'll make a guess or two.

If you had an upstream signal problem, like an EQ channel or one side of the RCA cable, you would expect the problem to show up on all channels down that side.

Make sure that all mono/stereo (stereo) and input configuration (1 & 2) switches are completely locked into their designated selection. 

Input configuration to be: Only one pair RCAs coming in. Channels 3 & 4 should get their input from channels 1 & 2. Channels 5 & 6 also should get their input from channels 1 & 2.

You can also temporarily switch all input configuration selections for six discrete inputs. Then use your single pair of RCAs coming from the EQ to test each pair of channels independently.

If you confused the speaker wiring, and had one pair of speakers terminals reversed in relation to the amplifier terminals (like swapping opposite channel grounds), you could possibly see the result you are describing when selecting between 'mono' and 'stereo'. So I would take an external test lead and wire each individual speaker direct from amplifier terminals to speakers terminals in the normal 'stereo' mode. If they all work when tested in isolation with an external test lead, then they should all work collectively when wired correctly.

Understand that the topology is a bit complicated. The Left channel positive is the '+', while the Right channel positive is the '-' with the polarity inverted so that the two terminals will be in-phase pertaining to a complimentary push/pull during the bridged mode.

I have all my cabin speakers run parallel using 4 Channels of my SD6 ( approx 135 rms)and have no issues at all. Oh, and mine screams btw... Good luck troubleshooting.

I would  rewire and run all parallel. Remind me what sub do you have ?

Completely independent of the OPs issue, IMO, the best scenario for four 8" speakers, four 6.5" speakers and a 6 chnl amp, is to run each 8" on its own chnl, and leave the walkway and bow port on the 5th chnl in parallel and walkway and bow STBD on 6th chnl in parallel. 

However, if you had the factory woofer on the stock 300W amp, wiring all 4 pair on parallel and only using 4 chnls, leaves 5 and 6 to bridge the woofer for a potential of 600W rms. This makes a HUGE difference all the way around. 

Or, add 2 pair of 8" Wet sounds Icons or similar on those last two chnls. 

Or, add another SD-6 run in 3 chnl mode and two pair of Rev-10. 3 on one amp and the 4th on the last two chnls of the 1st.
