Prop upgrade

Recommended Posts

I live in Redding California and I have a 2015 VlX wake setter . Does anyone know what would be the best upgrade from the stock VLX prop ? We are surfing about 90 percent of the time and I am not sure what is going to be the best upgrade. Anyones help would be greatly appreciated...

Since you only really need to get to about 11mph 90% of the time you might be able to get by with a 1235 or 1615. But, I think the 2315 would be the way to go. You might not like the RPMs but should give you plenty of pull since you're not super heavy. Adding extra bow weight would decrease the need for a more aggressive prop.

bum, have to know what prop you have.  There are always multiple "OEM"  or "stock" props and your dealer likely has a favorite for how your area uses boats, elevation, etc.  But to recommend an "upgrade", have to know where you're starting from.  What are you looking to achieve?  Better efficiency?  Are you hitting the wall?  In other words, why are you looking to upgrade?
