This why I switched to a deep v hull.  Aside from idiots getting to close, following my rider or one idiot that simply almost hit us we've had good surf days in some seriously choppy water, no way my VLX could have done what we're doing on this boat.  The private lake has been great for not having morons but you still gotta be up sun rise if you want glass.  My lakes out of water so we've been back on public and I'm glad we have private after the last few outings but it was nice to check out our other old riding spots.

We had excellent water both Sat. & Sun. mornings. Got some outstanding runs in both days.  We get out before 7am and run till 9:30 area  One other ski boat Sat. and not a boat on Sun.

Our lake is nice because the north side is probably 15 feet deep so the surf boats stay out. The skiers tend to stay up in that area. The southern end, which is the larger end, is 100 feet deep and that's where the surf boats hang out. Unfortunately, that's also where everyone with a crap bayliner or fishing boat goes to pull their tubes. I hate those things because you can never tell which way they're going.

I've given up on weekends in Nor Cal, we typically only go out during the weekdays.  There are way too many boats in our area and not enough lakes.  Tues through Thursday it is usually empty with great water.  Weekends are always a mess and unsafe being out on the water.  I am not sure I would own a boat if I only could go out on weekends, takes all the fun out of it for me with the kaos and crazies on the water.

We seldom have smooth water, at least not this year. Lake Mead is big enough to avoid boat traffic, but nearly every time we go out we are fighting the WIND. We are both school teachers, so we go to the lake frequently, but I only remember there being one nice day. I hate the wind. We still surf, but ithe wind just makes the day miserable. Our timing has just not been that good all summer.

We had glass at the lake house every morning until about noon, except yesterday.  I long lined at 9, taught a high school kid how to wakeboard, my 10 year old daughter how to barefoot off the boom, then she slalomed, wife and I boarded at the same time on two ropes, etc etc.  Great weekend.  Yesterday morning I was putting the boom on at 10, and a boat full of tubers came out.  Oh well, we packed up the boom and pulled out our tube also.

It's been more windy this season than normal for us as well.  We have had some cool downs that really start to kick up the winds from the coast.  I totally agree even surfing into the wind stinks, feels like it wants to push you back.  I have one trip left after labor day, hopeful we will get some prestine conditions...no crowds, warm weather, and low wind...September is usually a great month to go out.

Funny note on the wind:  Our lake house is at a long, narrow 81 acre lake, 80 feet deep.  It's perfect for wake sports.  The house is for sale, but some buyers have said the lake is too small.  The lakes we visit, we typically ride on half or a quarter of the lake, like in a cove.  Why?  Because it gets too rough, you have to find the right space to tuck in out of the wind and do small runs & loops there.....about 81 acres worth.

Funny story from my lake -- usually we can just drive strait until the rider drops.  Like for 15-20 minutes.

@bbattiste247 is it even windy in the early hours?  I know on weekends I typically get blown off somewhere between 1 and 3.    Usually mornings are nice though.

I go out on weekdays at sunrise it is awesome, weekends local lakes are a zoo, so I avoid like the plague.  I drive to central AZ

If you go out early in the mornings, you can usually avoid it, but after 9 or 10 it wil blow all day. On Sunday, we went out around 3 and waited until sundown for the wind to stop, but it just got worse. We could have found some coves, but just getting to them was keeping my auto bilge on.  No chance of going out today either. The flag on top of Sunset Station Casino is whipping pretty hard. My son is 10, so going out in the early morning doesn't happen much.

Stevo, I don't hate the Delta, it is more my better half that is just not a fan of the mucky water.  I actually grew up slalom skiing on the delta.  I should probably start trying to talk my wife into it and hit the delta, so hard to beat those riding conditions!

Thanks for the invite Friday, will be out of town this weekend...you guys enjoy!

Don't have her come to my resevoir...I can only dream of it being that clear. Visibility of 3" up to 4' depending on how much rain we have received.

In the middle of the day on a regular basis even on weekends,  find a poor man's waterway!

I seriously laugh when folks post pictures of their lake "glass". We call that a rough day on our water . 2.75 miles of it two times cause we have 2 canals that long
