Cartridge style filter question - looking for quick help

Recommended Posts

hethj7

Doing my first fluid change prior to Wake the World tomorrow.  Got the cartridge out, but the filter is till on the cap.  How does it release from the cap?   I'm afraid to pull too hard and break something.

pull harder.  It's just stuck on there.  I remember it being "firm".

Try twisting as you pull.

It wiggles "up and down".  Just don't want to break it.

My wife just pulled it off.  *hangs head in shame*

You are a lucky man to have a bride that will touch a used oil filter!

In my defense, I normally would hit it harder, but then break it. I was really worried about breaking it and losing my boat for Wake the World tomorrow.  But yea, my wife is awesome!

Lol, you're not supposed to admit that. Next time it goes something like this, "nevermind, I grew a pair and got it done. In no way was my wife involved."
