Sportster prop question

Recommended Posts

hello all

i finally got a good surf wake off my 2000 sportster but it looks better on the port side(regular) but I ride goofy so I was hoping to switch my left hand prop for a right hand prop. I couldn't find anyone who sold a sportster Rh prop online. Anyone knows if I can use a different boat prop that can fit the sportster using Rh

The short answer is no, you cant do that.

Rh and Lh refers to the direction the prop shaft spins, I might be incorrect, but simply switching to a rh prop will make the boat go backwards when you give it throttle. I imagine a large amount of engine work would be required to switch the rotation.

Maybe read this thread on getting a surf wave out of a sportster

He might even get a gear reduction out of it. Surely It would be too easy!
