sevice codes

Recommended Posts

hello i need a bit of help i have a 2015 VLX 22 i just received a service code that i have not been able to find any info on. i am sure it is a 02 sensor issue but i have not been able to clear it and the dealers are not open for the next couple of days. i would like to use my vlx this weekend. the error code is "O2AFuelTrimLong DATA VALID BUT BELOW NORMAL SPN:4237 FM1:1"  It is sending an alarm eve

ry minute. Any ideas how to clear it, would you consider this a serious service code? i am quite the distance from my nearest dealer.

This has to do with the sensors on the cats. The 4237 is 1 side of the block and 4239 is on the other. Take the sensors out and clean the carbon off them by either burning it off with an acetylene torch or some emery cloth.  I assume this is on the 6 liter engine. Hope this helps.

I replaced all 4 02 sensors in my buddy's 2012 247 - it didn't throw the service engine codes for the 1st half day but now it is again.  Dealer says we have to bring it in to reset the computer - its been through at-least 5 days of heat cycles?  I don't want to take it the 4hrs to the dealer - do I need the diacom software to reset codes or is there another way?  Boat is running great!
