are statistics readily available that detail active members?

i.e. number of unique members who have visited the site within the last month and/or year?

I don't believe that there is any way of exposing that to the forum through stock methods. I'd likely need to find a plugin or write one.

Ah, you're going to make me work?    Honestly, since the forum upgrade, I'm not entirely sure of what hoops that I have to jump through to generate those numbers. It used to be somewhat easy, but navigating our "new & improved" admin panel these days is more cumbersome than I would like. Who knows where they put that functionality.

i assumed that would be a pretty basic stat. that would be easily sourced.

It might be, but honestly I haven't looked for it. They moved everything around so much in our control panel in addition to taking away a bunch of functionality that I honestly don't know where a lot of things are & if many of them are still even available to us.
