Sportster gas vent

Recommended Posts

Ok I am taking a stab at wakesurfing with this boat, my issue is when the boat slows down, there seems to be water gushing all over my gas vent. I know a gas vent is used so gas can be pumped into the boat, but can I just tape it while I surf or is this a big NO NO. just wanted to know if anyone has experienced any these issues and has a solution

Not sure you can tape it mainly because the boat is sucking a lot of fuel while surfing and that fuel it sucks has to be replaced with air. Pretty much one of those things you have to learn to get around with your driving. My vlx is a little higher than my response was but still can have the problem if you stop to abruptly. When a surfer goes down I slowly come done in a straight line and reverse and let the waves pass me then turn around. Coming down slow keeps water off the back off the boat and reversing and letting waves pass keeps the bow from hitting rollers
