Depth BAD on Start Up

Recommended Posts

Ten4x4

Whenever i start my boat I get a BAD in big letters across the screen and in the bottom left it reads depth. I previously had a oil sending unit go out and I replaced it but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Any ideas on what this could be trying to indicated?

Bad is what the older boats show when the depth is under about 1.5 feet   At least that is what the inlaws 04 lxi does.

Does it work when you're not on the lift?  If not it probably means that your Medallion depth module has gone bad along with all the other ones...

Do some TMC searches on the problem - then live with it or replace it with a stand alone.

Minnmarker is right.  More than likely its your depth module.  Call the guys at Bakes and chat with them on it.  They were very helpful throughout my research on narrowing down depth finder issues on my '06.   I was told that if you are getting readings of 0.05 feet or 400' then it's the transducer.  Like Minnmarker said, if you are getting BAD all the time then it's definitely the module.  IIRC they are around $300 or so.

If ot says "bad"  its an idication that the medallion module is bad.
