Will the wake hull ski

Currently we own a 2014 wakesetter 21' vlx diamond hull. We've had so many problems with it we traded it in do a new 2016 wakesetter vlx with a wake hull. I slalom ski a carbon fiber ski at 32 mph and love the diamond hull wake. My kids surf and wake board. My question, has anyone slalom skied both these hulls that can give me an opinion on the wake?

I've had two VTXs.  First one wake, second diamond.  I ski at 34 mph, 15 off.  I'll probably get raked over the coals for this by the hardcore skiers here, but I couldn't tell a difference.

Haven't ski them but I use to ski my old v drive ( Centurion )  What I will say is you may need to alter speed, but play with rope length you can sometimes find a good place to ski a boat that many would not think a good boat to ski. You may need to go 34 and a very short rope.  No you are not going to have a DD.

Not sure about the newer hulls but with my 04 wake hull I have just about given up on skiing. Even after playing with speed and rope length the wake is just to big to have fun.

The fact that the new VLX is 4" longer and a couple hundred pounds heavier than your old boat will have a bigger impact on the ski wake than wake or diamond.  You say '14 -> '16 but your signature says '15.  If it is 15' -> 16' then obviously the same hull, probably not much difference.
