Removing Mirror Scratches

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any recommednations on how to remove fine scratches from the tower mirror?  The northwoods lake house has a long drive with low hanging branches along the way.  Historically I've made it through fine, but this year must have caught one where it really put some scratches in.  Mirror is still functional and no where near as noticeable when looking at it straight on, but from an any angle it's very noticeable.

Suggestions?

I have used waxes with cleaners in them in the past to remove water spots on aluminum. I would be real careful about using anything more abrasive. A headlight cleaning kit might work, but I would definately try it on some plexiglas or some other clear plastic first for some insurance. I have a long vertical scratch on mine as well. With my luck I figured I was better of with a hair line scratch as opposed to a 1/4 wide flat spot I couldn't  see through!
